Meet the class givers

Our courses are currently led by brothers Abhijatri and Balarka Robinson. Originally from Zimbabwe, their early interest in meditation took them to Southeast Asia and later to New Zealand, where they began practising as students of meditation teacher Sri Chinmoy. They started teaching in 1997 and have since offered courses in New Zealand, South Africa, and more recently, Australia.

Their classes combine practical techniques with light-hearted personal stories and insights drawn from a variety of meditation traditions. The result is a down-to-earth and friendly introduction to building a daily meditation practice — even amidst the demands of a busy life.

While teaching meditation is a central part of their lives, both brothers also work full-time as water engineers with Sydney-based consulting firms. Reflecting on how meditation has shaped his life, Balarka shares:

“Meditation has given me a great sense of peace, purpose and joy. I’m immensely grateful that I discovered it when I did. It has had such a profound impact on my life that I cannot imagine a day without it.”
